Please contact the professor under whom you would like to study at Kyushu University before submitting your application. The number of students accepted each year by professors depends on the capacity of the lab.
If your native language is not English, you need to send the original copy of one of the following to prove your English proficiency. The test date of the English proficiency test should not be older than 2 years.
Document to prove that the language of instruction for your undergraduate course is English.

There is no minimum score requirement.
The “International Master’s Course of Sustainable Architecture and Urban Systems” and the “International Doctoral Course of Sustainable Architecture and Urban Systems” are conducted in English.

A knowledge of Japanese is not required for admission to an international master’s or doctoral program. These courses are conducted in English. But Japanese language skills may become useful in everyday life.
We accept students from a wide range of fields. Please find a supervisor that is close to your graduate research interests and consult your future supervisor.
Our master’s degrees consist of master’s thesis and taught courses. You have to conduct research and write your master’s thesis to complete the course. The research proposal is needed to explain the theme that you like to study for your master’s thesis. Your research proposal must describe what you will investigate, the background of the study, why it’s important, and how you will conduct your research. Please read a suitable guide about how to write a successful research plan.
Doctoral Course
The doctoral course has two entrances every year, in April and October. Applications will be available to download from the homepage in early October for the April entrance. Applications for October entrance are available every year from early May onward.
Masters Course
The master’s course has only one entrance every year, in April. Every year in October, applications for master’s programs become available.
