FIND AN APPROPRIATE FIELD OF STUDY

The International Master’s Course is a research-based course. Therefore, you need to find an appropriate field of study among the five major study areas we offer: architectural design, structural engineering, building environment science, urban design and planning, and disaster management. Therefore, search the research databases of our faculty members and explore the different fields of study we have first.

CONTACT THE PROSPECTIVE SUPERVISOR

After exploring the searchable research database of our faculty members, contact the suitable faculty member under whose supervision you would like to conduct your doctoral research. Please remember to contact your prospective supervisor before sending your applications. Please send your educational background, your research interests, and the research plan when you contact the supervisor, which will help them decide if your research interests are within the scope and capacity of the laboratory. Please proceed to prepare your application document after receiving your supervisor’s consent.

 

  1. (1)  The admissions webpage of the Graduate School of Human Environment Studies assists you in contacting your preferred supervisor. Proceed to the bottom of that webpage to find out how to contact your supervisor.
  2. (2)   If you have graduated from an overseas university, you can find out how to contact your professor on this list of contacts. Please note that this process takes 3 weeks.  Therefore, inform the PSD office if there is not enough time before the application deadline. Refer to the PSD office for more information.
  3. (3)  If you have graduated or will graduate from a university in Japan, you may contact your preferred supervisor directly. You can find the contact email addresses of the supervisors on this webpage.

APPLICATION PERIOD

There are two application periods for the doctorate course. Applications for the academic year starting in April will be available to download from this website starting in October every year, and the application period will end around the first week of December. Applications for the academic year starting from October is available to download from May every year and the application period will end around the last week of June.
